Glad to hear that you have your son home with you...you can just craft somewhere else for a bit while you spoil him! Wink

Good to see that you are joining in on the fusion blanket!  I love it--get to use fabric and yarn!  It is also very quick and enjoyable...I have 12 squares all done--12 to go! Cheesy

ha ha thanks for the many links to baby burp cloths and bibs all!

I got up this morning and made three of each for a 1 pm baby shower!

The new mom-to-be loved them and I used up a whole three fat quarters of stash flannels! YAY!  I forgot to take pics because I was in a huge rush!

How did September happen already?  Time for Themes!

pencils in a cup by rhett maxwell, on Flickr

Color: Your favorite color.
Pattern: Plaid
For: Organizing.  In the US kids are going back to school, and all the school supplies in the stores are mighty tempting.  Maybe you can make yourself something to store the 3 million colored pencils you bought on sale.
Challenge: We've all bought new materials so we could start a new craft, but never got around to actually sitting down and learning it.  Perhaps this is the month to finally do so?

Plaid - my western costume for fall rally:)
Fave colour - blue, my back school outfit - I am praying I get called to teach the class I had in June tomorrow (the official teacher just decided to retire on Friday)
organizing - containers painted with chalk paint labels to store art and craft supplies in
Challenge -  Shocked I actually don't have any stuff to still try - other than the chalk board paint for above.

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

I have 6 yards of plaid that I want to make a dress from and I am waiting for empty cereal boxes to make in/out boxes for my desk.

The dress may take most of two months, but that is ok since it is black, orange, silver and white. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Orange-Plaid-Halloween-Fabric-/280956898164?pt=US_Fabric&hash=item416a560b74 I don't know if you can see the silver thread shot through out.

I want to make a dress on the bias, very much in the 50s style. I am thinking of something like this first picture, but I am not certain about the bat-wing style top.

And my favorite choice, but how would I make those sleeves? Any one know of a pattern that looks like this?

Ok so I had missed the fusion pattern link, so I looked back and found it. Wow that is so cute. I have lots of flannel pieces that would work great for that. Thank you for sharing.

I havent been very good at destashing this year. I havent bought much to my husbands delight. But I have been costuming for the Murder Mystery group I direct and while the money comes out of the groups funds I have been the one purchasing everything. I just got done a Sherlock Holmes show where I made put together 5 Outfits. Now I am starting a Pirates show and there will be 5 outfits that I have to make all of not just use pieces where I can.

But I did take a week off from sewing to give my back a rest, and I started a crochet jacket. I was gonna buy the materials I would need, but I changed my mind when I found 5 skeins of grey and then found a stash of light teal, dark teal, black and varigated yarn with all the colors in it. I had bought the grey several years ago to make a wrap, but never got around to it. And I just loved the colors of the varigated and bought the accent colors so I could make something eventually. Love it the grey isnt the same brand but looks great together. I am almost done the granny squares, so I am hoping to be able to wear it this winter. I cant wait to get it done.
