I was watching Kumihimo braiding yesterday on YouTube as well XD  I found a version that uses a cardboard loom and you only move one thread at a time so would be easier than the normal way. I was just looking for other techniques to help me destash. At least the loom for the hairpin lace counts as a supply since you don't use it up.

dewshinesdopp, I ran out of white thread right before Christmas. I had to go to 3 different stores to find some. Every where was sold out.

Hey all,  I'm going to try and lurk along.  I really need to clear out my have-to projects so I can get started on my want-to ones.  But... Not until after the middle of January.  I'm looking forward to the support and encouragement and great ideas from you all.

My destashing is progressing albeit slowly.  My first step was to bring more supplies to where I am staying at the moment. I have three pieces of material put aside to a top from this tutorial:

http://www.howjoyful.com/2010/07/joyful-ruffle-neck-top-tutorial/

I am also progressing with my embroidery thread destash -although lets face it Im only ever going to buy more thread.  Im pretty close to finishing an on going project from last year and have 3 more planned.  A band inspired piece for a dear friend, my charity piece and my matador cushion.

And finally I am part way through making two tote bags out of stashed fabric.  Now I just need to get something finished to show you all.

P.s I am mightily impressed by all of you who have posted evidence of your destashing and it is only the 4th of January.  Hats off to you all!

Bubblegum_phoenix - Nyan cat scarf?!  Is there a pattern?  I know a few people who would LOVE that

I stalked this craftalong last year, but don't think I ever posted.  I'm doing this and the 50 items.  I think I'm going to count if I use something from my stash and it leave the pile (even if it doesn't leave the house or it was items bought specifically for that craft), I'll count it.

What a pretty top!

Jolyon--I totally forgot that I can use my stash of embroidery thread for this CAL and yours!

I started my trio of flies (don't ask...) Smiley...I purchased the incorrect size of waste canvas...had I started it, the pillows would be as big as my couch cushions!  oops...so I bought 14 count today but since it is "waste", it will disappear when I am done, so it is NOT stash...I am using leftover threads as close as I can match...

I think I'm going to jump into this, too.  I'm doing the 50 projects CAL, so why not try to do as much as I can from what I already have.  I organized my dresser of craft supplies last week, so that's out of the way.

My biggest challenge is going to figuring out what to do with my bin of mostly Red Heart yarn.  I was vegan when I started crocheting, and that's the brand that the local craft store carried, so I have a ton of it.  I did the ami thing for awhile, but I usually didn't end up finishing what I started.  I'm not sure what to do with all of that yarn since it's too uncomfortable to use for wearables.
