I have this purse from years ago and the material is similar to vinyl, but it's black and hideous and has a Britney Spears logo on the top. It's oddly shaped (sort of like a teardrop) so deconstructing it and putting it back together would be difficult. The zippers are a lavender shade so I have to work around that. How could I go about restyling it to make it more appealing?

It sounds like you don't care for the fabric at all or the zipper color, never mind it has a BS logo on it. What do you mean, therefore, by "appealing"?

It's not the fabric that's hideous so much as the logo. And really anything to cover up the logo or add on the fabric to make it more modern and less "teeny-bopper." It's a good, sturdy purse and I just can't part with it.

I don't have a very good mental image of the bag, but I would take the bag to a fabric store and get fabric that matches or coordinates with the zippers then make a patch (embroidered, painted, otherwise decorated with something that is more meaningful to you) to cover the logo.
