Hi everyone! I wanted to share this piece that I stitched up for sloth003 for the December Birthday Swap.
She mentioned that she liked the movie The Big Lebowski, which I am also a fan of, so I jumped at the opportunity to make a hoop inspired by this.

Searching the internet, I found this rug that I really liked:


To translate that into embroidery, first I "faux batik dyed" some white cotton fabric. (The Duddha image that appears on the  fabric is actually on a piece of paper under the fabric- I was getting ready to trace it on.)

(faux because I didn't use wax or dye- instead gel glue and watered down acrylic paint. You might already know how to do this technique but if anyone is interested I could explain more.)

Just wanted to say how awesome this is and add that I too would love more info on the faux batik. I try with hot glue but it's not very reliable. Yours looks great!
