oops i forgot to mention... to make that cut the easiest, fold the ribbon in half the long way, then you only have to make one cut...

ribbon folded in half:
  ___________
 /__________/

then when you open it, it will look like this
  __________
 /                /
 \_________\

great idea...i'm going to try it today (i know, the craft room is NOT done being cleaned out, but how much room can this take?)

One idea for the ribbon fraying...

FRAY CHECK IS MY FRIEND (or fray bloc, or any other brand)

Its so easy to use, and really does the trick.  I recommend it highly for anyone that hasn't tried it...available in just the notions part of the sewing store-very common.
