I just got a brother 2500 and very happy with it but I am having trouble with the piece that comes off to sew free arm style. It says it is an accessory holder but when I remove it and then try to put it back on, all the pieces fall out. What am I doing wrong?

Mine does that, too.  It should have come with a little pouch to put the accessories in.  Nothing's really going to just stay in there loose, so I'd recommend using a ziplock if the machine didn't come with something.  Eventually, though, you'll probably want to get a little sewing basket (a tackle box is also great!) because your sewing stuff will vastly outgrow that compartment.  The only thing I like to keep in there for sure is the little screwdriver that stays with the machine at all times.

Aislynn is right; the Brother accessory compartment is useless.  I don't even keep the screwdriver in mine since it's such a pain.  I use silverware and jewelry organizers to keep track of everything.  Giant pill boxes work great too.  If there is something you need to keep with the machine (like a stylus or screwdriver) I use industrial strength sticky backed velcro and attach it to the side or back.
