Been on SSDI since earlier in the year and I want to sell some crafts to help make ends meet - would like to hear from some others on SSDI who have done so - do you just report it on your IRS taxes or do you have to notify Social Security before you start? I seriously doubt I'd even approach the limit of what you can earn with my crafts but I don't want to commit a "technical foul," so to speak.

Your best bet is to call your local SSA office and ask them directly. If there's a limit on what you can earn, they'll tell you what you must do.

I would definitely keep all receipts for tax time but I can recommend a website called listia it is all credit based which means there is no money and no taxes. I sell my stuff and buy all kinds of house hold things and beauty products that I would normally spend money on you can even get gift cards its a great and safe website (advertising isn't my thing trust me but I LOVE this site.)

I had this exact question! I'm waiting for my hearing for Social Security Income, I'll probably get it sometime this year. I think with SSI you can only make like $65 a month? Which I doubt I'd get selling my stuff, but I'm still paranoid!

I did a little research and you can make up to $1,000 a month (net).
