flower button ring! urban outfitters knock off..kinda!*TUTORIAL*

I had some of these flower buttons that came in a random pack! well i sent some to krazigal, i had no idea what to use them for!

so i decided to use the buttons for this


i know the photo's are crap! well the urbanoutfitter's one isn't but mine is! krazigal also made me a ring w/ the buttons i sent her! except her's is made from a metal band, mine is a twisted seed bead band..i wanted it to look like a vine..but its kinda uncomfortable!

Here's the tutorial! Hope it helps!

The only problem is that I didn't have another flower button so I used a similar button!



Here are all the supplies you'll need!
-seed beads
-wire (mine is 24 gauge)
-wire cutters
-button (you need a specific kind..i have a pic)



here is the kind of button you need!



Cut a piece of wire about 8 inches long or longer depending on your finger size..remember you'll be twsiting this into a spiral so it will shrink! 8 inches fits on my ring finger which is about a size 5 so add length if you need it!

Take the wire and string it though the button. Make a loop and twist it



Next start adding seed beads to both sides of the wire! Add as many as you need to go around your finger!



Now once you have enough strung on..being twisting both strands of beads together in to a tight spiral!



Take both ends and string it back through the button hole



Wrap all the extra around the ring..it will probably be covered by the ring! But if you have a lot extra just go ahead and cut it off after wrapping it a few times!



AND YOUR DONE! thats a nasty pic of my hand but oh well! Please feel free to ask questions if i wasn't too clear..i had to make this one fast! thanks and enjoy! post pics of your rings too!

Easiest thing to do is an elastic band.  Bead it up the way you're beading the wire, tie it off at the shank, add a little nail polish to the knot (use a surgeon's knot) let dry and voila!

Don't stretch the elastic too muc when you're tying the knot.  Although it does stretch, it doesn't stretch all that much.

yeah but elastic string isn't sturdy enough to hold the button part up too well...that was what i had originally tried and found that wire works much much better and its a little sturdier

wow! well the one you made me is a little more comfortable to wear but this one isn't too bad!
