What a great start to this craftalong!  The poinsettia is gorgeous!  I like how you are making these your own by changing things up with the beads...they really do add a lot of dimension and texture...

I also love the little ivy...they would be so pretty trailing down a dark winter coat...

Cool That's such a great idea with the Ivy, Always!  And thanks for the compliments! I'm pleased with the way these turned out! It's so hard to decide what to make next.  Huh  I'm trying to warm up with the easy ones first.  Grin
Happy New Year Everyone!

KLKing you've made a great start  Grin I love the white & lavender rRuffled Rose and your embellishments are lovely.

We've been busy busy busy here, my younger son & his gf are moving to an new appt on the 6th and it needs a thorough cleaning and entirely re-decorating so I haven't had crafting time since Christmas Day!

WISHING YOU ALL A CRAFTY NEW YEAR

Grin I'm looking forward to seeing this place BLOOM!
I never planted a CYBER GARDEN before!  Roll Eyes
I was just looking through my crewel wool. I'm thinking to separate a long single strand and crochet with a smaller hook. There are so many pretty colors of wool!
And then there's all that cotton floss.
I'm thinking to take a stash photo to show everyone what I'm working with.  Grin
I hope your book arrives soon, PJ!
I know once your family settles down after the move, you'll have nothing else to do,  K_S!  Wink

My book is on its way!!!  and I ordered the 75 birds, butterflies and beasts book as well so maybe I'll get a few done from there.
Hurray!!  I get to play!

*note to crafty goddesses-- if this part has to be removed, I understand. don't want to step on any tooties:)*

I sure many know about the free crochet patterns that are on the web with a great collection from Crochet Pattern Central (and the knitting one but I don't knit so you have to look up the link on their main page).  but they have some neat flower patterns as well for those who can afford the book.  might be a good way to post a flower without having to buy the book.

that's where I keep looking while I'm waiting..... must be a good crafter and finish my swap before I start crocheting.  but I do have *another* dental appointment coming up.  then I get to play in the waiting room Smiley

Hey there PJ... I don't really care WHERE  the patterns come from, as long as they fall in this category! The important thing is to try to give each other encouragement, and support.
It is helpful to have  ACCESS to the same materials, so we can reference each other to the patterns and discuss them.
My main point in starting this CAL is have a common theme and learn from each other.
I'd really love to see more people join, and if the cost of the books are prohibitive, alternative sources are welcome.
But let's stay on topic please!

I have had no crafting time at all so far this year!  Shocked but hubby is back at work now and although we're still helping my son & his gf to move house and re-decorate it's not as crucial that we're there 12 hours a day as the bulk of the decorating is done and we can't move the furniture in until they hire a van. I think by the end of the month I should have some pretty flowers to show.

pjr107 I'm on the waiting list in the library for "75 birds etc"  Grin

My book will be here on Saturday!!!  I do not have a large stash of solid color yarns so I am going to have to go shopping a bit...I will start with the easy flowers... Cheesy

I think a nice mix of flowers by spring would make me very happy...

I'm excited about everyone getting their books, and checking out the 75 birds and critters book. Smiley
I suggest someone making a separate thread for them, since I'd like to keep this one tuned in to the 100 Flowers Book, (even if you stray a bit by using other sources) . For example, I did a flower out of my head last night.
If you create something like that out of your head, feel free to post the directions! I simply had not written mine down yet.
I'm cleaning house today, and trying to get a plan for projects so that I don't get stuck one just one thing, like the Uncle's sweater.  Sad
As much as I'm interested in the birds, I think they fall in the Amigurumi  category.
