not sure where to put these, as they did not seem to fit in the knit or crochet boards, or the jewelry board.

I made these for the recent MAF holiday swap as my partner indicated she crocheted and liked sugar skulls/Day of the Dead.  I made it as part of a kit for her stash/hobby, so there were stitchmarkers, a skull themed covered craft journal with pockets for patterns, and a hook roll with yarn needles, measuring tape, and scissors.

Made with shrink plastic, drawn on with marker, and coloured with pencil crayon, and veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slooooooooooowly and patiently varnished with several layers of acrylic sealer.  Slowly to allow for proper drying so that they can be a bit more durable and thin layers, so they would not pit or show fingerprints so easily

I made two different ones that were made from skull beads I had, so that there was something a bit different to show the ends/beginnings of rows/patterns, on leverback earring hooks in case they need to be shifted around or removed in the middle of a row.

A couple of my favourites

It's so much fun to knit with special stitch markers! These are great.

These are so nice.  Did you color them before or after they got shrunk?

Thank you.  I always colour before I shrink - the colour becomes more concentrated with the shrinking, and any streaks or blotches smooth out.  Also, I think that the heat helps to set some of the colour.  Just keep in mind that as the plastic shrinks, colours become more dense and concentrated, so they darken.  Afterwards, I put on a couple of coats of acrylic glaze to help protect it, and let them dry a good long time before putting the rings on.

Oooooh! Love 'em! I was thinking of organizing a stitch marker swap, but had to organize the pincushion one first because it's my first time organizing. I bet you would be a REALLY good organizer for the stitch marker swap (hint hint) Wink

Hehe - I only organized one swap, a couple of years ago.  I am not sure I am up to it again just yet - I would like to, but maybe when things are less hectic in my life.

However, I did see that, and if it does get up and running, I may consider joining!
