Quilted placemats

My brother and his wife asked for quilted placemats for Christmas this year.  When I asked about color scheme, they said something like old world maps.  I didn't have any old world map fabric, so I gathered all the fabric I could that fit my image of an old world map, and I came up with these.

I made each one a little different, but I still think they go together well. What do you think?  I hope they like them.
