I've been feverishly working through some Christmas gifts.  Last night I stayed up until 2am trying to complete my daughters Christmas gift...who happens to be 2.  (She's also my avatar at 8 months old)  She is smitten silly over Dora...and her Backpack.  Since I love to make bags, I thought Dora's Backpack would make a great handmade Christmas gift this year.

I've put together a tutorial for it since I had a hard time finding some good directions for one...so if you wanna make Dora's Backpack, here ya go!

I am in love with this Christmas gift!  I think/hope that she's gonna love it too Smiley That will make this mommy heart happy.

There are two pockets on the outside: Map's pocket and the STAR pocket.  Map is not in it just yet because my printer ran out of color ink...but my plan is to use iron on transfer paper and print off a map from the net.  I'll then Iron it some white cotton fabric I have on hand...then sew that to a sheet of white felt.  On the back side of the felt, I'll add Map's face so that when it's rolled up, she will see Map from the side.

My 4 year old modeling for me while the 2 year old was still asleep Smiley

I love this detail...the elastic in the top sides of the bag...

The STAR pocket Smiley  I tried to include everything I could think of!!  :O

Hope you like it as much as I do!  Would love to see your creations if you try the tute  Grin

Absolutely love it! My neice was super into Dora when it first came out, what like 10 years ago? Dang I feel old. But I bookmarked the tute in case any new Dora loving little girls come into my life.

I especially love the star pocket, I've never seen a Backpack backpack with one before. Great touch.

That's so sweet!
And it looks much more comfortable for the little ones to carry, since it is so soft.

This is the cutest back pack/bag I've seen in a very long time - you did a terrific job on it - I don't have little ones, or even grandbabies, however I may make one and give it away to a neighbor child - this is the sweetest thing ever!  I love it.  Cheesy  Thank you for the tutorial. Smiley
