I got inspired by Leslieshappyheart and her "Hope" hearts that she made for a friend.  So, when I found out that my friends mom was diagnosed with cancer and would be in the hospital for chemo over Christmas, I asked Leslie if I could please use her idea.

I decided to make it a little different, but still the same  Smiley  My jar is filled with Strength and Courage and a whole bunch of Hope.  I plan on attaching a sappy card with words of encouragement.  That when she is feeling down, her jar is full of the stuff she needs to keep going.  Grin Hope you all like it.

The jar in all its glory.

The hearts all together.

The fabulous heart my 11 year old daughter made all by herself!
(sorry for the blurry pic)

Courage

Strength
(once again sorry its blurry)

I really am hoping this will lift her spirits.  Thanks for checking it out!

What a wonderful thing to do for your friend's mom!  And a lovely thing to have in her room - because of low immunity issues from chemo patients usually can't have live flowers....from experience I can tell you that anything with colour is very much appreciated Smiley

Ooh, I love the jar of hearts! Your hearts are all so pretty, you did a beautiful job on the embroidery, I especially love the two colors in the word "strength". The top of the jar is really great too. This is a wonderful gift for your friends mom, I know it will lift her spirits.

I think it is wonderful that kindness is spread so easily from one act...it sure gives me hope that we are still a caring bunch of people that believe in face-to- face interaction and small acts of giving from the heart...this kind of project, lovingly and beautifully handmade, means so much more than a text message or a post on FB or other social media sites...good for you for being there for your friend and her family

I love all of the beautiful hearts, but the HOPE is the most meaningful to me...good job and thanks for sharing another positive thread during this special time of year...

Today is the day that her gift gets picked up. They are going to take it to her on Christmas Eve.  I didn't want to take it to her myself.  I really didn't want to add more germs into her environment than she already has. Thanks everyone for the messages about this project.  It feels great to be able to give back!
