Hi all!
This is my first time posting a project - being a guy, i have hidden my knitting for quite a while, but have decided to get over that.  As a Harry Potter fan i have of course done the obligatory scarf, but wanted to try something new, so here it is:
http://home.bigblue.net.au/~catboy/gryffindorbanner2.jpg
I used the pattern found at www.wiseneedle.com/images/patterns/liongraph.pdf
Looking forward to sticking around...

I love that. Great job, I am super impressed.

I heart boys who knit. Don't be ashamed!

I teach an 8th grade unitarian church school class. The kids wanted to learn to knit so I started teaching them. I think the boys were the only ones who stuck with it. I had a bunch of 13 year old guys knitting hats and scarves. It was awesome.

was it difficult? how long did it take you to finish that? I've never attempted such a feat but... oh if I could there would be many a Weasley sweater to go around.

this project makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside  Wink

happy knitting!

Kick ass! I want to make something for Ravenclaw for the coming of Half Blood Prince. Only problem is, it's too damn hot to wear a scarf so I must think of something else.

If you could knit me one, I'd wear it next winter though Smiley Yay for your mad knitting skills, I suck right now so mad props.

Wow, you did an amazing job on that!  I'm still new to knitting, but I'm doing a Gryffindor scarf for my roommate and a Slytherin one for my husband for the book release.

As a Potterhead and a fanatical newbie knitter, I tip my hat to you!

Thanks, everyone!
I was thinking myself it would look good on a library bag or something similar, but i am nowhere near capable of even trying something like a sweater!
All in all, it took about two/three days of knitting, sweating, pulling out of stitches, swearing, and counting until it was complete.  I am thinking of attatching wooden rods at the top and bottom so it can hang like a banner or 'tapestry'.  And am now starting on some to get to fellow Harry fiends in time for the new book... if not they will hopefully get by the time the goblet movie is released!
(And might i say, thank you all for being so welcoming.  Some people i have already come across were agitated by the thought of a male knitter - but after lurking here for quite some time i knew you would be friendly!)

i got seconded to knit a scarf as a spot prize at the bookstore where i work. I'm just doing a ribbed red and gold striped scarf. Because it's quick and easy and i'm resrntful that my work is taking me away from projects i want to do.
should finish it tonight hopefully.

Yay for Harry Potter!  Yay for boy knitters!  Yay for your AWESOME piece of work there.  Kudo's to you!  Now I must attempt this, although I'm not sure what to do with it, as I'm not into doing another sweater just yet.

Beautiful job!

Catboy,

Amazing!!  Really nice work, I'm very jealous ALTHOUGH I have to admit I did snicker a bit when you said you were nowhere near capable of doing a sweater....Silly boy, sweaters are easy peasy.  Even I have managed to get a sweater done (okay so it still has to be sewn together but still!!!) and trust me, when it comes to knitting, I seem to have two left hands.  You have great skills, put 'em to use!

Yay! I've been looking for a good lion pattern and I couldn't find a good one anywhere, this is perfect. I'm OBSESSED with Harry Potter.

For all you other HP fanatics, I have a free pattern for a knitted cell cozy that looks like Ron's sweater on my website: http://www.grittyknits.com/ViewPost755.aspx

That is pretty impressive for a beginner.

I do love when boys knit.
Though, the only two people I know who knit, besides myself, are guys.
