what a lovely thing to do! i'm glad she liked it and i think you were wise to consider the question, grief can be such a confusing emotional time. that sweet little gift will likely bring her more and more happiness as time goes on. good neighbours like you are the foundation of strong, supportive communities.

I agree with all of the above.  You might wrap it in a tiny box, and then give it to her and tell her what it is.  That way she can open it on her own and not have to break down in front of you.  OR open it and have a good cry right there...her choice.

I came in a bit late on this thread, but wanted to share that I am often asked to make little felted memorial pieces for people's pets, and they have all cried but have been more than glad to have asked for a little reminder of their beloved pets.
And for you to do that for your neighbour is just so lovely and heartfelt. So glad she liked it, I'm sure she loved it!  Smiley
