Hey all!!!!!

I FINALLY TOOK THE PLUNGE!! It took about four hours (we straightened my hair first, so my friends had SOME shot at getting fairly even bits, xD), but my dreads are IN!! I'll post pics as soon as I get them off my friend's camera!!!!

Lol, that would have taken half the time ( or less) if you hadn't straightened your hair...

lol, I sort of figured, yeah, but my friend has been clamoring for literally a YEAR to be allowed to straighten my hair, so since he was willing to put in my dreads, I figured the least I could do was let him straighten it. Heh. They had fun, and it didn't bother me. xD

This was my hair at about 1 week after I put them in:

Sadly, I took them out after about two months . . . They seemed to be unraveling -- maybe I didn't put them in properly?  I backcombed, but I got kinda tired after a few hours and did a shoddy job on the ones in the back, haha.  I tried using a crochet hook the last couple of weeks to tuck in those "wisps" of loose hair down to my shoulders, but eh, it was a little too late.

Is constant upkeep the key to keeping them in?  Meh, I miss them desperately.  Especially since I'd made a neato Elvis headband to wear with.  Sad

Patience is the key, just wait long enough and they will lock naturally. They looked cool though.

I definitely want my dreads back, I miss them so bad.

Check out what I made! I was going to put this in finished work, but I thought it would be better received here.

Non-permanent dread decorations.
I always wanted those dread wraps in pretty colors.

These are made of embroidery floss and are crocheted. One is tunisian crochet. (The second one from the right.)
