A question - About how long does it take to go through the initial dreading process?
I should be getting my friend and sister to dread my hair next weekend, but I fear it will take all weekend! I bought a kit from dreadhead hq, and on the website they said for an average 8 inch long dreadlock, it takes 10-15 inches. My hair is almost 20 inches long.
About how long do you think is will take?

i got that kit when i started my dreads too, but it really was a waste of your money... the only thing necessary is the brushes and shampoo.
when my dreads where done it took 8 hours with 2 people working on it....my hair was like half way down my back i guess

My hair was only about 10 inches or so long when I installed my dreads, and it took a few weeks. I didn'd have anyone helping me, and I did it whenever my hands weren't already occupied. There were about 90-100 dreads on my whole head when I was done.

It's time consuming to put them in, but well worth the wait, I promise! Cheesy

Wowza. Didn't quite realize it would take that long!
I've got my friend all weekend and my sister for at least one day, so hopefully it'll all get done. And even if my mom isn't too happy about it, I'm sure she'll help.  Wink
Thank you!

I did mine mostly by myself, with a friend helping in the back.  My hair was down to my waist and STRAIGHT.  It took an entire long weekend.  Your friend is going to have serious elbow, wrist, and finger pain for the next week or so!  And your head is going to be sore for a few days, too.  IT'S WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always used Dreadhead Hq products, but i was wondering if anyone here has used knotty boy products, and if they work or not. I was thinking of switching to them because they seem to be more environmentally friendly, but do they actually work?

I loved Knottyboy wax, but I had never tried Dreadhead HQ, so I can't compare them.
