they look cool to me Cheesy

Today I had like 5 dreads all together in one HUGE one on the back of my head. I was afraid that would happen since its happened a million times before. so I spent forever ripping it apart and now its a lot better

I'm in britain, so you can get their products and loads of others and beads, tams the works (and also tips) on http://www.dreadworx.co.uk

I'm a British dreadhead too! I use KnottyBoy shampoo which I usually buy from the Hemp Shop in Brighton. Thanks for the link to Dreadworx though -- that'll be really useful. Yay for UK dreadies Grin

I'm not really worried about anything it's just i've wanted to do this for years now and i finally just went ahead and did them now i wanna make sure that they will turn out good. I've pretty much done the neglect method,  I wash my hair every once in a while with Dr. Bonner's all natural lavander shampoo, lavander is a drying agent so i figured it would help with the locing process.  Thanks for the feed back though......

Well, after three weeks i have finally read through this entire thread.  What a wealth of dread info!!  I wish I had found it before I did my dreads the first time.  I used way too much wax and ended up combing them out after less than two months.  I left my hair alone for a while after that, just continuing to use the residue free shampoo and gathering all the tips and tricks this thread has to offer.  Last weekend I finally felt like I was ready.  For the backcombing, for the journey.  It took me about 15 hours spread over three days.  And no wax!  I love my wax-free dreadettes so much.  Before I didn't like to play with them because my hands got all greasy, now I can't stop touching and squeezing them (they are still puffy).  I still have the elastics on the ends, but I plan on wrapping and crocheting them after their first washing this weekend.  I ended up with really long strands of undreaded hair on some of my ends so I was thinking of trimming them before I crocheted.  I don't own a felting needle, but am thinking of getting one to try it on the dreadettes.  How do you guys feel about felting dreads?  Not at all, or wait until they are more mature?

Sorry about the last minute web cam photos.  Here they are, less than a week old.

WOW those are going to be awesome, I have never felted my dreads but I crochet them from time to time. good luck! I would probably just leave them and let them do their own thing.
