WIP: Mr. McFluffypants as Black Bart

I'm working on this for my 16 year old brother as a Christmas gift. I'd love to get some feedback before I finish it. Constructive criticism is welcome.

It's pen and ink wash on watercolor paper, 7"x10"

What were you planning to do further to it?

The work on the face is good.  His body at this point kind of disappears, if you were to deepen the shadows there it would look more complete.

I would make his mustache more impressive, more robust with curls at the ends. The kind you think of when you hear "Railroad baron". It'll be more of a focal point and have more purpose on the canvas.

I agree about the mustache.  And I think if you do a dark background wash of some kind it will bring out the dog beautifully.  Other than that, it looks done to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I finished it and gave it to my brother for Christmas. Here's the final product: http://cinnamonteal.blogspot.com/2012/01/black-bart.html It's mostly the same as up above, but I blackened the blacks and added a little more depth to his "beard".
