Pretty! Is the Japanese character itself also made out of clay? It has a pretty shine to it - what did you use to coat it?

The character for "Joy" is simply a stamp.  I used yellow pearl-ex powder before I baked it, just brushed it on and blew off the excess.  It's actually an orange-red skinner blend, but you can't really see the gradiated color in the photo.  The most difficult part was fitting it to the bezel without distorting the shape or stamp.  I baked it in the bezel and coated it with "Inkssentials Glossy Accent".  I love this stuff.  It gives the shine of resin, without the messy premixing, etc.  You can even layer it after the first coat is dry.  Takes only a couple of hours to dry.

Your friend is lucky to have this pendant. It's beautiful.  Grin What do the characters mean?

It's the character for "Joy".  It says it below the character, but it must be hard to see.  Using a cell phone camera to take the pictures.  I need to get a better one.  Thanks!
