I love the stitch that is used in this hat; can someone tell me what it is?

Thanks!

Could it be a variation of brioche knitting?

Check out this blog for pictures and a link to instructions.

I think it's slip stitch crochet, which can look like knitting sideways. Try this link - http://slipstitchcrochet.com/wiki/Basic_stitches

Since the hat description is being knitted I don't think it's crochet. It kind of reminds me of the herringbone stitch, only repeating the first row of the pattern. That probably isn't what they did, but it reminds me of it:

The row I'm talking about is row 1 (the one that slants to the right) which is knit 2, slipping only the 1st loop off the needle.

For it to be the herringbone stitch it would have to be knit sideways, and I don't think it is.

I'd take a wild guess of twisted rib. I'm not sure though.
