After much planning and thinking, and some doing, I finished my sister's Christmas present.  It is a lap quilt for her living room, in which her colors are bright blue, grey, white and black.  Normally my mom helps me out with my quilting projects, but I'm now a quilting big girl and did it all by myself.  The results on the back aren't great, A LOT of puckering, but the top turned out good.  And its soft and cozy and will be perfect so long as she doesn't display it bottom side up.  And since I love all of you, I will show you the back despite my utter hate for it.

Here it is on my bed.  I used 5 different fabrics and did long strips in varying sizes.  The final measurements ended to be about 57"x42".

A better view of the fabrics I used.

Here is the stitch I used for the machine quilting and my horrible puckered up back.  I used flannel for the back.

All folded up and ready to be wrapped!

It does look quite good on my bed.  ^_^

Thanks for looking!

So cute I love the fabric. Your sister will love this too. And if you have some left over fabric you could make a gift bag to give it to her in and she could store it in there it would look pretty and be reusable.

What an awesome idea!  I'm currently making her a throw pillow out of a small portion of the extra fabric to match it since its going on her couch.  I will see if I have some time next week to make a bag to go with it all.
