Made this blouse using Simplicity 2594.  It was fun and pretty easy to make.  I'll probably make another in a different fabric.  I found the blouse to be totally unflattering without the belt (and still not super flattering with it).  The pattern included a skinny little fabric belt, but I thought a wider belt would be cuter (I ended up just buying a belt).  I used a cotton fabric, but I think a silkier type fabric might drape a little nicer.

I agree that a thicker belt was needed. A thin belt (IMHO) would not have been so fitting to the blouse. I personally think that it looks GREAT on you! It has a perfect length and cinches in your waist just perfectly. It goes nicely with that pair of jeans too.  It is super flattering on you, I think!!! I see what you mean about the draping of the fabric you used but seriously don't see anything wrong with the current fit nor with the way the blouse sits on your figure :O) You did a great job!

You rock that top - looks so good on you. I like the wider belt you paired with it.

I bet a nice knit would drape well and be comfortable, to boot. Of course, I recently discovered that when you buy Jersey knit sheet sets on sale, it's nice fabric MUCH cheaper than at the fabric store... So knits are my new fave, lol.
