loves2experiment did a cute embroidery and made it into sort of a patch...I like that idea because you can sew it on clothes or other things and then save it when you get tired of the top or purse or whatever...do you have to use stabilizer or anything special to embroider on knit fabrics or other clothing?

That sounds like a great idea.  Its always sad when a customised top wears out and you cant save your work.  I tried embroidering on a t shirt a few years ago (with a fair amount of stretch) and it was a nightmare the stitches just looked really messy so I think stabiliser would be good going forward.  Ive since customised a few western shirts and they have worked fine without it.

Also get stuck in AMIFRIENDS.  Cant wait to see what you are working on.

Heres some of the earrings ive been working on:

They arent the most effective for reducing my embroidery thread stash though!

I love that new ways to use embroidery thread are being shown!  Those earrings are really nice!

I also have not done much to reduce my stash, but I have been embroidering a lot more...I am doing a series of 12 Dr. Who embroiders...since most of the stitching is white, I have had to purchase a roll of pearl cotton thread...I have been posting my embroideries in the Dr. Who craftalong if anyone wants to go look! Grin

I still want to find a suitable pattern that will use up the incredible amount of greens and pinks I inherited...seems like I am the person my friends call when they need to give crafting supplies a new home...hubby is going to pick up another huge box today...I bet there is going to be MORE embroidery thread! oh well...

Inspiration without application is moot.

WELLLLLL, I certainly have an abundance of embroidery threads and then some! I've done a lot of embroidery and cross stitch, not to mention punch embroidery and I want to do bunka! I have threads for all of it! Some of my floss is actually vintage that I've had since I was a child some 55 years ago!
My floss along with the fabrics, hoops, stretcher bars, etc. take up WAYYY too much room! But I'm pulled -- on the one hand I want to destash and on the other hand I want to selfishly hoard full knowing I can't use it all in my lifetime.
I need help!
