A recent cake for a cousins birthday. I was pretty pleased with it and with the massive amount of chocolatey goodness Smiley And it's vegan too!

Wonderful cake. You have a lucky cousin.  Do you have a link to the recipe adn did it need any special ingredients?  I would like to have a reliable vegan cake recipe for special occasions, especially when you don't know everyone who is coming or what their tastes are.

Sure thing kittykill.
I started with a layer of chocolate icing and then cut the face from rolled chocolate fondant. On the top I put a layer of fondant and then made a ring around the edge to create a shallow dish. Then I added simple syrup with blue food colouring to give the look of a tropical drink. The straw is actually a peppermint stick and the lei was purchased at a party supply store. Lastly I attached an orange slice with a toothpick for garnish.
Glad you like it, it went over well at my cousin's birthday.
