Bakeneko
« on: December 09, 2011 11:54:17 AM »

It is an irruption for snowy owls this year; a favorite biological phenomenon in the Bakeneko household. When winter food supplies are low these arctic birds travel south in search of food and show up in unexpected places like Hawaii. To commemorate it I made Mr. Bakeneko Snowy Owl pillowcases.

What beautiful owls.  I can't quite see what fabric you used for them.  Is it crochet or a machine-made lace or a print? I also envy you having the real thing around. Such lovely birds.

Thank you everyone.

Elderflower: It is a white on white print of vines (http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?pageName=search&flag=true&PRODID=prd57097) but it is the reverse side because that is the side Mr. Bakeneko liked.  It is just appliqu with embroidery floss to secure it.
