Hi again everyone! It's a new month, and time for a new round of Granny Squares.

This is a motivation crochetalong. The idea is to keep yourself working on your projects by posting progress photos as you go, and posting updates on how much you've accomplished throughout the month. Ideally, one post per week to let everyone know how it's going and at least one progress picture for the month should be the goal.

Yes, the title says "Granny a Day". Are we going to hate you if you can't keep up with that? OF COURSE NOT!!! We all have a lot going on, especially with the holidays coming up, so if you can't do 31 squares this month, it's OK. The point of this whole thing is to make us all sit down for a few minutes and lose ourselves in granny goodness. I've been working on some of my granny projects for months already, and I'll probably be busy with them well into the new year, but it's fun and relaxing to sit down and spend ten minutes on my granny projects every day. You'll be amazed at how often it turns into an hour or more, without you even realizing the time has passed!

If you're new to crochet, there are some great tutorials out there. A couple of great ones can be found at:
http://www.crochetcabana.com/tutorials/granny_square.htm and

Happy Crafting!

I started making chain mail jewelry in June 2011, and started my own company, Incendia Designs, in August 2011. I also crochet, act, sew (a little) and am enjoying being a newlywed!

I would like to join. I want to make this blanket for my daughter's bithday in May. I wanted to make it for Christmas, but then I had a sane moment and realised how funny that was . Grin

Well, if you want to get it finished for Christmas, it'll only take.... about 45 squares a day between now and then! Cheesy Two inch squares go really quickly, though. I bet you'll be amazed at how much you can get done before Christmas.

We're glad to have you, Kobechina-welcome aboard!

If it wasn't for all the other presents I'm trying to make, I would probably try!  Cheesy

I just made it past one of my deadlines, helping my daughter make a project for school that was due today. So I am going to start working on squares tonight.

Finished another two squares today! I'm going to try to lay them all out tomorrow and take a picture. My cell phone has the world's worst camera, so I have to borrow a decent one to take a picture that doesn't make everything look either washed out or super dark... and since these squares are almost all bright colors, I want them to show up! Cheesy

I made 12 squares last night and they ended up being 2.75 inches. This would make the blanket 68.75" x 79.75". Kind of big, but I think it would fit nicely on a double size bed with a little hanging down the sides...I don't know. She is 10, so I want it to be bigger than in the picture in the link.

I did not tell her what I am making, but I wanted to find out what color I should make the background. I asked her what color she thought goes good with red, black and brown. She chose green, like x-mas. So I am making the background green.

Here is a progress pic.

My little brother was in a car wreck this weekend, so I've gotten a whole lot of nothing done. He's MUCH better now, but it was pretty scary for a bit there. We're planning a bit of traveling this week and weekend, though, so hopefully I'll have time to catch up. I'm at 14 squares right now. So, 7 more to be on track for this month. Smiley

That's terrible! I'm glad to hear that things are looking good now though.

I am working on presents so I cannot work on squares til after Christmas.

Have fun travelling and Happy Holidays.  Smiley

Merry Christmas everyone! We're actually having a white Christmas in West Texas for once, so travel is restricted, but we're home and safe with family. Hope everyone else can say the same! Cheesy
