peep! says peep
bleet! says the sheep

the peep purse! not to be confused with his marshmallowy seasonal counterpart, peep himself is a vintage-inspired song bird. made from an old dress, this baguette sports what used to be a pocket and spaghetti straps.

i'd like to say it is, but it's done with an embroidery sewing machine in the "redwork" style.

i made up the peep pattern and the stork bag pattern myself (which is actually different from the wild ginger pattern that i took a gander at). basically i just made them up off the top of my head? i knew how i wanted it to look, and i cut stuff out to make it look that way! hehe. sorry i couldn't offer a better explanation.

Never thought of using a redwork design... I always bypass those cause I always think of them as needing to be red... for some reason... derr, how very uncreative of me.  Sad

I love the bird and the bag itself!  It very very cute!  Very springy.  Wink

I visited your blog-site and was wondering where you found your retro-clipart?  I have an autidigitizing program and would looove to make some cute 40s & 50s inspired designs...
