I was thinking, sometimes not a good thing.  But anyway.  I have seen the dress dummies on here, how about one for your feet.  To make shoes or boots.  you have a copy of your leg and foot.  What do you think? Bad idea or not?

I would suggest doing a duct tape form for your feet... similar to the dress form on here (somewhere).

Get a huge sock that goes above your knee.
Duct tape it for the shape, and then cut it off, stuff it and you can fit pieces around as you like.

I'm looking into making some shoes myself.  ^_^
