Hi everyone!
I have a habit of making something, and adding it to a big cue of things that I should eventually get around to posting to Craftster....

Well, I figured that I have enough stenciled tees waiting for their own post, that I might as well put them all on here together!  Grin

This first one I did for a birthday swap; it's a tawny owl. I took the photograph of the owl myself, and then used the website http://strix.org.uk/stencil/ to make the stencil. And then I promised myself to never make another stencil with a billion little spots.

By the way, I used standard fabric paint for all of these. For the owl, I just painted it in kind of a gradient with lots of mixing.

I made this one for my partner in the Joss Whedon Swap. It's a refurbed black tee (meaning I cut it into a triangle-y shape and zig-zag stitched over the raw edges), and I modeled it after Anya's shirt in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical, Once More With Feeling. (It's really visible in the bunny rant/solo, if you're into that kind of thing).

I especially liked making it because I got to invest in lots of very glittery fabric paint. Wink

The next shirt in the cue was painted with both stencil outlines and free-handed images. This one was for a partner in the Dr. Who Fill-a-box swap, who I discovered also had a love of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This idea popped into my head one night, and I couldn't help but make a multi-geek-themed shirt.

I was particularly proud of this shirt. I might make one for myself someday. Here are some close-ups:

And finally, here's a shirt I made for a friend. She's a big fan of sperm whales, and everything bright green. Unfortunately, the lighting and the colors conflicted to make a terrible photo, but I had to wrap it and give it away before I got a decent one.

I had fun making them, and have been accumulating a stash of blank shirts to further my collection. I hope you like them too! C&C most welcome.
Cheerio!

They're great, all of them.
I like the owl a lot and yes, the Dr. Nightmare one, I like the swirl.

By the way, I just spent over an hour on that stencil site.... too cool! (but I can absolutely see the draw to making a stencil with too many piece!). Thanks for the tip!

Oh wow, I really love the owl stencil. It must have taken you forever to cut it out! Do you mind if I feature it on my (small) craft blog, as an example of something awesome made with an exacto knife. The address, if you'd like to see the article, is http://sticktoyourglueguns.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/ten-most-essential-tools-in-my-craft-kit/

Absolutely, please do! Smiley
And I hear you on the box-cutters, I've used them to cut stencils and have wound up hating everything crafty for a while. However, I've found that an essential item along with my exacto-knife is a plastic cutting board. Nice blog!
