I'm trying to make more of my decorations this year - particularly for outside (Christmas is in summer here in Cairns) - and ones that are more durable than card or paper!
Here's a banner I stitched:

and wrote a simple tute here:  http://jembellish.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-banner-tutorial.html

I absolutely love this, just saw it on your blog (I subscribe to your email updates) and was just thinking how I definitely need to make one of these for a decidedly blank wall in my otherwise festive living room.

Thanks for sharing  Grin

Ditto. We have lights on the windows and a small tree but my cousin/roommate are definitely missing some serious holiday-ness up in our home. A banner like that along the main livingroom wall above the the tv would be great.
