Hidey ho there crafty peoples! Instead of making a new thread for each Christmas thing I make, I'm just going to put them all right here, starting with...

Christmas Cards!



I made 50 of these suckers. To make them, I carved the lino cut and printed it in silver ink on the black paper. Then I stamped the letters in red using this nifty old school stamp kit thingy. (Sort of like this one, but not exactly.)

Here's a pair of knit socks I made for my sister.



I ran out of the teal yarn when I was almost done with the second sock. So I made the toe with the tan color. I kind of love it. I like that you can't tell it's there when you have shoes one. But it just gives it a bit of hidden character.

Details:
pattern - knitty's Spring Forward
yarn - knit picks Stroll - I don't know the name of the teal color, but the tan is called buckskin. Both were from my stash.

I highly recommend the pattern. It's pretty repetitive, so it's easy to do while you're watching TV or talking, but it's interesting enough with the lace that it doesn't get mind numbingly boring.

Yarn's good, too.

Always in awe of hand knit socks, love the extra color on the toe.
Also love the fact that you used holly in the card design.  They are in my family crest and I am always drawn to them.

Christmas crafting is the best kind!

Also - I totally LOVE those socks. My cousin has refused to wear a matching pair of socks ever since he was 5 years old and got suspended from school for a day because he bit a little girl he had a crush on.... for whatever reason, he blamed the bunny socks he was currently wearing, and to this day he wears mis-matched socks all. the. time. He's 17. I think the odd toe would work for him, he'd LOOK like he was wearing matchers, but his "luck" would remain intact.

Caramels: For friends and coworkers.

Caramels are made with this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/caramels/
They're delicious! And easy! A little time consuming, though. We made 2 batches and got about 400 little caramels, enough for 20 boxes (4"x4"x2").

I made the labels using the same stamp kit I used on the cards above.

Boxes are from Uline. (I love that site!) Paper string came from Ikea a year or two ago.
