My three year old niece loves her play kitchen, so this year for Christmas I made her felt food!

This is my first time sewing with felt, and all of the patterns are from Big Little Felt Universe by Jeanette Lim.  I also made her a shopping bag out of felt that looks like brown paper, and two velcro snack bags out of a super cute pear and apple fabric.

Fruit: pear and apple halves (which have magnets in them, so they stick together), mandarin orange slices, kiwi slices, peach slices, strawberry slices, and raspberries.

Vegetables: tomato and carrot.

Dessert: slice of strawberry cake and an iced cookie (and silver beads that look just like dragees).

I spent a LOT of time on these, so I hope she has fun with them!  Roll Eyes

Fantastic job! I am making some felt food for my 4 year old for Christmas. I made her some earlier in the year and she loves it!

That is so fabulous - I love the idea, and what an excellent execution of it. Great job! I know a lot of kids who would just love this.

These little food items are so well done! Congratulations!
Seems like theres a lot more to expect.

I just love these!

If I had the same talent for sewing, Id make these by myself to teach my children.
These items are so expensive. How long did it take you to finish the fruits or the cake?

Hmmm... I didn't really keep track, usually I worked on them while watching TV in the evenings.  I think the large fruits were probably one half a sitting, but the little slices were one whole set in a sitting. For the fruits that have little pieces for the centers, I would glue the centers on the day before to help keep them in place for sewing.

I LOVE the "piped" icing on the slice of cake. It looks so realistic!

You really did work hard! I have this book too and I am going to try to do the entire cake pattern before my daughter's fourth birthday. I hope they turn out as well as yours!
