Hello!
I made this hat as a gift for my aunt, she LOVES spiders, bats, road kill etc.... yeah, shes a bit weird. I figured spiders would look best;)

The spiders were made separately out of wire and seed beads.

Close up. There's black iridescent beads sewn in to the vine things for added shimmer. The spider webs are silver thread.

Comments and critiques always welcome.

Wow! So pretty yet so simple! Did you do the swirls in surface crochet or something else? They look really nice.

I can't admit to having any love for spiders but I still LOVE this hat!! The details are really fun but still beautifully subtle. I'm sure your aunt will adore it.

Also, your hair is stunning!!! Can I have it?? Smiley

Love this! The 1920s shape is really cute, the colours are gorgeous, the embroidery is beautiful and it has sparkle and beaded spiders! I think you could create some cute variations on this theme (I can see the shape working well with a little brim, or autumnal colours instead of the blues, for instance) but this is perfect as it is Cheesy

Thanks! I embroidered the swirls with black yarn and a tapestry needle .

thanks, when I designed the pattern I left a slit open up the back so it would work with a pony tail or bun since that's how I usually wear my hair, that's what gives it the 1920 look:)
great ideas! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=390283.msg4620749#msg4620749 this is one of the others I made.
