I've created some festive partyware for my Holiday entertaining using inexpensive wine glasses & recycled wine bottles.

The individualized the glasses are painted with various Christmas symbols so my guests can easily spot his/her drink. I used a glass paint which can be made more durable by baking.

I even added a bit of colorful glitz to some of the items by glueing on tiny flat backed gemstones.

I love these but I have a couple question about painted glasses like this. Are they dishwasher safe? Is there a brand or type of glass paint that sets better than others?

Thanks for checking our my projects.  I use paint formulated for glass.  Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc all have it.  Just check the bottle to see if it recommends baking in your home oven---350 degrees for 30 minutes.  At least one brand says it is dishwasher safe but I don't think they will last nearly as long.  I hand wash mine gently & they last for years.  I also find that it isn't good to keep a painted bottle in the refrigerator because the humidity causes the paint to lift.  Then I found that Hubby was putting my filled wine bottle in the cooler to take it to social hour.  Putting it down in the ice caused the paint to scratch.
