This is Sir Geoffrey of Waning Moon Glen. He is from a hidden corner of a forgotten forest. It was given its name from the three lakes that were formed by a meandering river. Many years ago the river changed direction and horseshoe lakes were formed. Looking down from the hillside you could see a lake and nearby two more lakes that resembled the crescent moon. Each getting narrower like the waning moon. This forest is full of mystical beings.

Most are friendly...

...but you can never be too careful.

His style is influenced by 12th century English armor. Although the armor itself took on it shape from the existing inserts. I did buy a stand for him that seems a little big, luckily I bought a smaller one too. I also bought magnets so he could hold his helmet and sword.

He is most made from recycled materials and some from my stash. The idea started with my son playing with the inserts that came in my new shoes, while we watched tv. The inserts became one idea after another and before we knew it Geoffrey was born, or rather his armor was. In the end we are both proud of our whimsical creation.

recycled bits-
cardboard shoe insert---> armor
shoe box --> shield
soft drink box ---> helm
vinyl seat scrap --> belt
small key chain --> buckle
tongue depressor--> sword blade
yellow sewing scrap -> beard
red and plaid dress --> tunic and pants
tarnished silver bracelet-> chain necklace
stuffing from pillow

stash bits-
red card stock--> design on shield
poly clay---> hilt on sword
rhinestones in hilt
yellow yarn --> hair
muslin--> body
paint and brads

What a cute knight, I love that he came out of you and your boy playing with the shoe packaging.

Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

That's just the coolest thing ever. I love the storyline too, and that you recycled random stuffs. Awesome.

The bad news: There is no key to happiness.
The good news: It isn't locked.
