This might be the prettiest thing I have ever made in any medium!

My friend asked if I could make her a single thick/thin yarn for some doll hair. I mainly needle/wet felt but have made 2 skeins on a drop spindle before, and I wanted the challenge!

Batts I carded up:

The first picture is halfway through.

Here's a picture of my favorite section:

My fiber friend saw this on facebook and said she could make me a giant art yarn spindle, since I ended up rolling it on my thigh since the spindle is not at all heavy or big enough for the type of yarn I want to make. I am pumped!

I can't wait to build a lightbox and take professional-looking photos with this yarn. It just makes me so damn happy to look at it. It's just merino with a touch of firestar. If I get my hands on some other fibers--I might just implode.

I just set the twist. They're outside drying on hangers with spray bottles weighing them down. I have no niddy noddy and had to use a folding chair (awkward!!) My yarn broke in the middle of it  Embarrassed so I have 2 skeins now. It's okay because she's using it for doll hair and it will be cut up anyway.
