When I was in France, my host family and I went to a party where I had some whiskey that had strawberries in there. I don't know how long it had been macerating, but those strawberries (and the whiskey!) were delicious!! I live in an area where the strawberries at the stores are abysmal... I can't wait to live somewhere where fresh fruits and veggies are abundant during the summer.

you whiskey and berries remind of Beer works....they have/had this amazing blue berry beer..whoch was beer(ofcourse a diff falvored kind to go with the berries) and pieces of blue berries in the bottle/glass!! yuimmmmmmoooo./..
you could maybe do that with strawberries as well!! wow...i think i will!!! Grin

I would just like to thank the academy for nominating me......

for mothers day i made pancakes and this strawberry sauce thing. i heated cut up strawberries and alot of brown and white sugar on medium-high covered until it was like a sauce. i poured it over the pancakes and put a little whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. it was really good! i went strawberry picking yesterday, and we got about 16 litres of strawberries. yummy!
