Hey guys, yes.. I went on an "OMG IT'S ALL FREE" binge at a well-known 'free' business card supplier who shall not be named and I now have, and I kid you not.. over 1000 business cards (and about another 500 postcards) that I don't need because I went and bought some decent ones from moo!

The useless ones have outdated email addresses and websites etc that I used at the time and have now condensed them all to one domain so I just don't need ALL that info on my cards so I don't want to hand them out anyway!

ANY ideas as to what I can do with them? the only thing I use the business cards for right now if wrapping strips of fabric and ribbons around for storage, and the same with the postcards and wide lace.. but seriously, the things are coming out of my ears over here.. there must be a use for them??

This time of year I use a lot of old business cards, I paste wrapping paper to the printed side and use them as gift tags.

Do you know anyone with young kids?  As a homeschooler, I used them for flash cards (alphabet, words, math facts) and made lots of matching type games for the preschool set.  Gift tags was a great suggesation---bases for paper projects like magnets? cover the printed sides and use them for any of the projects based on a deck of cards---I am sure there are some on Craftster.

You could always cover them and decorate them to make artist trading cards (just google to see some examples, if you aren't already farmilair with them). Then send some out whenever you do a swap or something! That should get rid of a few.

For gift tags: Instead of covering the printed side with gift wrap, what if you spray painted them? You might have to use a primer first to get good coverage, but then you could glitter paint or even spray adhesive and glitter them!  Then to create the "To/From" side, make a cute label on your computer using a template and mailing labels and voila! Fast and easy!

Use as pallet for small amounts of paint or glue
Use under glue gun to catch nozzle drips
Use to spread paint on large areas
Gift cards: Paint, glue fabric or paper.
Book marks...paint, collage, glue paper etc.
Make sewing or craft calculations on... keep a stash by the phone for scratch paper
Write inspirational quotes or words and post all over the place.
Make your own refrigerator magnets (but without the magnets) for your bulletin board or wall
Create a small "doodle" kit for your purse so you never are without something to draw or take notes on
Cut small shapes out of cards to use as templates for crafts
Cut small shapes out of cards to use as stencils. Dry brush or sponge paint around or on them. Then throw them away.
Lace together to make small books.
Lace together to make small funky birdhouses or boxes.
Create an idea or inspirational "draw one out of the hat" game for yourself on those days your creative spirit is down.
Create flash cards for learning new things.
Create matching games.
Let the kids make up their own game and create their own card set.
Make a mix and match story set.
And.......
