So my Magic Bullet is my friend, and no, it is not a phase. Although I have yet to convince my boyfriend of that fact. Is over 6 months a phase? I think not!
I adore smoothies. Yum yum yum.
Fruit are my friend, as they are yours. Delightfully sweet or funny-face-making sour, I love them all.
Always looking for fantastic new recipes for smoothies.
Currently my most common (I won't say favorite because there are others that I prefer the taste of, but you can't go wrong with the convenience of this one) is a banana smoothie
One or two bananas, ripe is better than not ripe, obviously.
Milk, anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup.
And either a scoop of vanilla ice cream (for sweetness and coldness, but who needs ice cream in the morning..not me unfortunately) or a scoop of vanilla-flavored soy protein powder. Or you could skip those both and just put a little shot of vanilla extract.
Very tasty, I drink them like water. Healthy, well without the ice cream anyways, and filling.
But seeing how I have had the same smoothie for many days in a row, its just nice to change it up a bit.
So I'd love to hear your favorite recipes!!
Another one of my favorites is an Avocado smoothie
. One or two ripe avocados, some milk, ice, little bit of vanilla if needed, and a whole lot of condensed milk. Needless to say this one should be had as a treat, not an everyday meal.
Also, strawberry smoothies
(more like a slushy though) are great, frozen strawberries (other frozen berries taste great too) tossed in the Bullet with a bit of water and a dash of sugar. Mmmm all I need is tapioca pearls.
Another thing...anyone have any suggestions how to integrate vegetables into my smoothie-making crusades as well? I've thrown fresh spinach into strawberry smoothies before. Imagine a lovely brown slop with chunks of red and green, that actually tastes like a mixture of strawberries and spinach. Didn't see that one coming.
