My couch and chair have become a little worn out and I'm wanting to sew a slipcover for them, but I have never completed such a complicated sewing project.  Does anyone have any tips? and also, do you know approximately how much fabric I will need for a 3 cushion couch?
Thanks!

This post includes some basic instructions on how to make a slip cover to fit your sofa. Good luck!

thanks for the reply!

I actually found a roll of fabric (approx 10 yards/meters) at a thrift store for $9.99! I couldn't believe it!  I think I'm going to just finish the edges and drape it over the couch as a cover because I'm feeling a little intimidated by sewing a fitted cover   Undecided

Well, wait to finish it, because you might have to do an uneven hem depending on your sofa.

I was going to say you can put ties at the arms for a more fitted look, and then I found these instructions for covering - you can probably get some good tips from this - http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/3749/make-a-sofa-wrap
