Making one for my wiener dog -- STAT!  That is SO super cute.  Did you just tweak a granny square?  Ingenious

He looks SO cute~! What kind of dog is he? He looks a lot like our dog - we have a redbone coonhound... who also gives me that look whenever I put a sweater on him.

I started with the christmas tree square from the 200 crochet blocks for blankets, throws and afghans book.  Then I single crocheted around evenly, then started granny squaring (?) around till I got to the right size.  On top, I made a collar and at the bottom a ruffle and sewed all three things together. 

My son and Duck come to visit on Sundays.  That's when I tried it on, tweaked it to fit and made the tie that goes around his belly and sewed on side on with a button and made another button on the other side to button into the sweater. 

Next time, I think I'll measure the dog before I make the sweater!!

Duck is a golden retriever.  Such a good boy.  He doesn't bark a lot and he always does what he is told.
