I eat Christmas-time! And I eat crafting for the people I adore... My 16 year old step-daughter mentioned that she likes koalas, but wasn't sure how to craft one best, as she isn't into stuffed animals. She does eat hats, but I just made her one for her birthday in September... So I thought a nice headband/ear warmer thingy might be fun.

Since I'm a lazy knitter, and like fast projects, I went with a bulky roving wool. That actually ended up being perfect, and the pom pom ears are pretty RAAR grr ugggh, if I do say so, myself. =D

My 12 year old, Lydia, begged to model it. And for me to make a second one for her!

And here is the second one...

One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. The great eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire, ash, and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.......

Did you use buttons for the eyes?

Yes, I did. They are about 1/2" in diameter.
