I couldn't resisit the temptation to jump into the "Book Thong" bandwagon...

Here's the link:

Here's my version:

A closeup of it in book...

The beads need to have a bigger hole in the middle.  I went to a few shops but couldn't find those that I wanted.  These are the best that I can find.

These are very addictive and was done in less than an hour.  I just went to those shops selling scrunchies with beads.  Bought a few scrunchies, so I can cut out the beads!  I'm gonna make a dozen to standby as gifts!

What lovely beads. They match the yarn beautifully. Nice job

That is really beautiful!! Where did you get those beads?

This looks like crochet that I can actually do.  Definitely going on my to-do list!

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I go the beads from our LYS.  And I think it looks very very chinese!  I was looking for something like those in the book thong link, but couldn't find any.

These are the scrunchies that I bought... This is so exciting!

I was just thinking...  Even if I don't finish them, I can use them to hang on Christmas tree when time comes...  THat makes me not so guilty in buying so many of them

Beautiful! I love your book thongs  Smiley

Thinking too, I could use my old hair clips too. I don't know why my mom always had to put things on my hair.. or why they were always covered in beads.. But I think I'm going to make her a few book thongs with the clips she used most often. A kind of "Remember the good ol' days when I dressed the way you wanted me to?" Wink  but more of a "Thank you for being such an Awesome Mom!" Smiley

Thank you for making this thread! I would have never thought to do this on my own.  Cheesy

Hi Chaos, I'm surprised that you still keep those hair clips till now.  Mine has already been lost in space for so long!  Glad that you've found a good use for them.  Hope to see  your version soon!

lol Yes. My parents moved last year and my dad brought stuff down from the attic and found a bunch of goodies from when my brother and I were in kindergarden. It was way back when my mom used to save EVERYTHING.. now she throws stuff out, hardly ever saves anything anymore. I'm moving back to Texas next month so I will be able to get all my old stuff that my mom stored and make stuff with them. I have a wooden box full of beads and old hair clips. My mom used to make them for me when I was a wee one. I got my craftiness from her.  Cheesy
