If Jules Verne's stories were true. If Steampunk was real, it would be more than our present time changed. More than our future. It would mean a different past, too. And a historian of today could unearth artifacts of the british settlement on Mars from 1887.
Yeah. All that means is I found a chunk of rusty pipe and a lightbulb went off. So, an assemblage piece.

And a slightly different view.

The handled I assembled and then painted matches the rusted metal, in color and texture. Shadowbox background is a lovely rough nubby blend of copper and black. Gun trim and firing button is more found metal, plastic drink cup bits, and foam insulation. Ect. Hung on a bronze chain. Incredibly fun to make, and the first in a series I'm slowly working on.

This is fantastical. I love the history you've invented to go with your "artefact" and the frame looks soooo right.

Thank you so much! The Goodwill is my friend when it comes to frames and canvas. And the background? It's amazing the color and texture you can get with a *lot* of screenprinting ink daubed on juust right. A gazillion blended layers that took forever to dry, but worth it.
