I loved this idea and decided to make my nephew one of these lamps for Christmas.  Here is the completed project:



The wrapper is still on the lampshade, I thought I would let him have the honor of taking that off.  I found a used lamp at Salvation Army for a couple bucks.  It was white, so I painted it black and then decoupaged white ovals on for the eyes.  I know myself and I can not paint perfect ovals, so I didn't even try.



I made the feet and the turn key out of yellow polymer clay.  I always buy a few small bricks whenever I see them on sale for 99 cents.  I just buy basic primary colors and they have really come in handy for recent craft projects. I glued them both on with E6000, which was kind of a hassle with the turn key as I had to sit there forever holding it until it dried a little.  But it's nice and strong and flexible, so it won't just snap off if it gets knocked around a little. Here is a closer look at the key:



I painted the turn key with "golf leaf" craft paint and then covered the whole thing with several coats of modge podge so everything would have the same finish and also to keep the paint from scratching off.

I'm very happy with how it turned out and I hope Mikey likes it!
