It all started with these afghans:

As soon as I saw all of these Link and Mario blankets floating around I realized something, craftster needs some pokemon afghans!

So that is what I set out to do: a pokemon afghan. I didn't actually stop to think how simple Link/Mario characters are compared to pokemon sprites, but I realized it once I started.

I worked on it for about 1.5 years (it took so long because I never wanted to to attach the last half of the squares together.)

Bulbasaur is about 33 squares tall by 36 squares wide. Each square is 2 inches, because anything bigger would've been ridiculous.

Square break-down:
135 green
356 Light Blue/Teal
49 Dark Blue
28 White
30 Red
250 Black

TOTAL: 848

I don't have the break-down of how much yarn, but it was a lot!

A second one is planned, and it will be charmander, then probably squirtle. After that...well I'm not sure who I'll do next.  Grin

OMG.

Did you lose your mind? Because I would have. I would have broken down and cried. You are my new hero. You might be the most awesome person of all time.

WhAaaaaat?!   Holy hell girl.  This is fantastic, awe inspiring, and threatening to me as a crafter (highest honour I can confer upon you).

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.
