Squee! I am finally able to post something here! Lol. So, I've been crocheting for a couple years now, and I've finally got something Craftster worthy! My cousin is a HUGE fan of Captain America, so for her birthday/Christmas I thought I'd make her a shield blanket. What do you think?

I've had a couple request for instructions, so here's the links I used:

They are two pieces. The circle is found here: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90097AD.html?r=1

And the star is found here way at the bottom: http://www.craftfreely.com/free-crochet-patterns/preview-pattern.cfm?id=806

And then I just sewed the star onto the circle Smiley

I LOVE  this! My son saw it and he decided he needs it ^_^ How did you make this? Is the star separate and attached on top or is it all one piece?

This is awesome! My brother would probably love this (although it would probably end up being shredded by the pooches). And, thanks for sharing how you made it- I was going to ask how you turned the star into a circle... now I know the secret Smiley

It was maybe three feet across? More of a lap blanket.

What yarn did you use, and what colors are they. This blanket is absolutely perfect and would show my true nerdiness but I don't care.

That's amazing, I just completed a Spider-Man blanket for my baby-to-be and then I saw your blanket and I know I have to make it next!!!

Can I ask how many rows of each colour you did on the circle blanket, your proportions look perfect.

Oh my, I'm not 100% sure. I know the red and white stripes are 5 rounds each, but I don't know about the blue. Part of me is thinking it's 10 rounds? This one is more of a lap blanket/rug size, so I would maybe suggest making your star as big as you want it to be, and then do as many rounds as it takes to line them up in the royal?

Thanks so much, I'm making a baby blanket.
Using really fine soft yarn so I ended up with 18 rounds of blue last night to make it big enough.
