Need some different placecard holders for my table, and saw this project on the interwebs. Don't recall where, but it is not my original idea. It is so easy!

Seashells before:

After sometime with my Dremel and 2 heavy duty cutoff discs:

These are easy and quick to make. I did all the ones you see in about 20 minutes. Then coated them with Modge Podge to give shine, and highlight the pretty colors.

Enjoy! Smiley

What a cute idea!  They look easy enough for you to let your guests take them home!

CUTE! I think I need a dremel too. I wonder if OMP is hiding one from me.

What a cute and simple idea! They look elegant on the table. This would be great for a summertime dinner party.

I had a question..finally remembered it!

When you drill through the shells, do you have to stabilize them with something? I know when I drill through my plaster walls, I have to drill through tape or else the plaster shatters...I have a bunch of shells that I want to try this on but I am afraid I will crack them all to bits! Sad

The shells are unbelievably hard. Guess that is why they make nice homes. All I had to do was hold them still while I Dremeled. No splintering or breaking, even on the most thin ones.

Thanks!  I need a quick gift for a party this weekend and these would be perfect for the hostess!  I have 10 shells so if a few break, I am still good!
