Here is the set I made for my friend's first baby. I started out with the two colors - tan and light blue (sorry only the bootie pic seems true to life).  Then I decided on the baby blanket pattern and then added the circle motiff to the sweater and it was a lucky find for the booties - they already had the circle motiff on the vamp!

Here are the pattern sources:
Sweater and Bonnet: Simple Baby Sweater Set from Lion Brand Website (a complete breeze to crochet and put together by the way.  The pattern lends itself to embelishments and changes.  I decided to turn down the collar.)

Booties: Colorful Booties from Annie's Atti Leaflet 874050 Precious Baby Booties (minus all the color changes!)

Blanket: Crochet Lullaby Afghan from Red Heart Website (I made less squares for a smaller blanket).

What a very kind and thoughtful gift. I like the bootees colour, so I guess I'd like all of it up close and personal.

Thanks antidigger!  She had a boy so I struggled with what colors to use - seems like boy colors make everything look so "grown up!"  My friend was going with a woodland theme so I chose blue and tan.  She loved it and said everything fit. Smiley
